Looks I'm Loving: Fall

Being pregnant has made shopping a little harder this year, but thankfully I can still fit into most things I own and am not in maternity clothes...yet!  But I still love browsing online for inspiration, so I thought I'd post a few looks that I'm loving this fall.

NYC Girls Weekend

Mom, Dales, Annie, and I decided to have a "girls weekend" in NYC a few weekends ago during my Fall Break and boy, am I glad we did!  There's just nothing like family time. :) We had a fun dinner on Friday night at Fig + Olive, which was right across the street from our hotel, and then we met up with Dales' boyfriend Pat and his family for drinks.  I hate that I didn't get any pictures that night, but we had a great time, and I was so glad to finally meet Pat's parents.  On Saturday morning we got up and went to the new 9/11 museum.  It was cold and rainy as we waited in line, but the museum itself is unbelievable.  It was very touching, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

We warmed up at lunch at P.J. Clarke's, which had a cool view of the Statue of Liberty.  The weather cleared up and we headed back to Dales' apartment before hitting a few shops on Madison.

That night we went to Dock's Oyster Bar and Seafood Grill, which had great food and an really fun atmosphere.  Pat joined us for dinner, and we practically closed the place down. ;)

On Sunday morning we walked through Central Park before I had to catch my flight home.  The weather was so nice, and I hated to leave!

I will always be so thankful for the time I got to spend with my mom, sister, and grandma that weekend!  What wonderful memories. :)

Five on Friday

[one]

I had a great birthday a few weeks ago thanks to all of my sweet family and friends!! My kids were extra sweet that day, and my family (both sides!) were so amazing to send cards and gifts, like this fabulous Kendra Scott necklace from Dales! Gaines surprised me with flowers and and a few treats and then we drove to Augusta for dinner at Miyabi's.  I'd been dying to go there (they cook in front of you, so I probably looked like an excited four year old), and then we ended the night with some much needed frozen yogurt. :)

[two]

I just don't think there's anything better than lazy fall Saturdays.  Cool weather, windows open, fall decor, college football, cider candle, cozy blankets...I just love it all!

[three]

Anyone else take selfies with their dogs?? No...?  Okay.

[four]

I co-hosted a shower for one of my work friends this week in honor of her little boy, who's arriving next month.  Everyone brought a dish and gift, and I decorated with some free printables I found on Pinterest (like this and this).

[five]

And speaking of babies, we find out Baby Story's gender next week!!!!  We will wait a week or two to announce so we can tell our parents in person, but I thought I'd see what we're having according to some old wives tales.  Looks like we have a 50/50 shot. ;)

Happy Friday!

Dailey Wedding

A few weekends ago we celebrated the wedding of our friends Lauren and Josh on the Savannah River.  Lauren and Gaines went to high school together, and I have absolutely loved getting to know her and her sweet (and super tall!) husband the last few years.  The setting for their wedding was beautiful, and Lauren did an amazing job with all of the small details.

It did end up being an unexpectedly freezing cold night, but we still had a great time celebrating Mr. and Mrs. Dailey! We love you both!

Two Easy Muffin Recipes

I recently had to make a breakfast item for an early school meeting and had the urge to make two types of muffin recipes I found on Pinterest.  They weren't quite as good as my grandma's Banana Bread recipe or Brooke's grandma's Pumpkin Bread recipe, but they were easy to make and still delicious!

Banana Muffins

Ingredients:
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup melted butter
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Line standard muffin cups with paper liners.
3. Mash the bananas and in a mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat together the bananas and sugar.
4. Melt the butter and beat in with the bananas and sugar.
5. In a another bowl stir together the four, salt and baking soda.  Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well.
6. Divide the batter into the prepared cups and and bake 10-15 minutes.
7. Test with a toothpick inserted in the middle of a muffin. If it comes out clean the muffins area ready. Remove the pan to a cooling rack. Let sit for 5 minutes then, move each muffin onto the cooling rack.

Pumpkin Spice Muffins

Ingredients:
1 Spice Cake Mix
1 can pumpkin
3 eggs
1/4 water

Streusel Topping:
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Line standard muffin cups with paper liners.
3. Mix all the muffin ingredients together and divide the batter into the prepared cups Next time I think I might add raisins. :)
4. To make the streusel topping, add flour and sugar together and cut in butter. Place a couple of spoonfuls of topping on each muffin.
5. Bake for 15 – 18 minutes.  Test with a toothpick inserted in the middle of a muffin. If it comes out clean the muffins area ready. Remove the pan to a cooling rack. Let sit for 5 minutes then, move each muffin onto the cooling rack.
Enjoy!

UGA vs. UT

The last weekend in September Gaines and I headed to Athens for the UGA/Tennessee game. We found parking near the Holiday Inn and walked over to our friend Bo's tailgate.  As soon as we walked up he told me he had a little surprise...Josh and Andi were on their way [insert heart pounding and shrieking here].  Andi is from Atlanta and was last season's Bachelorette.  I don't normally watch that show, but I cheated the first episode and saw she ended up picking Josh, who played football at UGA and is brother to our old quarterback Aaron.  Anyways, Josh has a friend who tailgates with Bo every game, so they parked at the tailgate and we got to meet them.  I don't think I stopped drooling for about ten minutes after. ;)

We bought tickets on our way into the stadium and ended up scoring seats in 328, which was nice and shaded!

During the fourth quarter I met up with my college best friends Linds and Steph for appetizers at East West.  Our husbands met up with us after the game for dinner, and it was so good to see them for a few hours and catch up.

Linds and I are due two weeks apart (eeekk!!!!!), so we obviously had to stop for some Ben and Jerry's before heading home. ;)

And on our way to the car Gaines and I made a pit stop on North Campus to ring the bell (which I surprisingly haven't done since freshman year!) and walk by the fountain.

It was a such a fun weekend!  And how 'bout them Dawgs?!
