Third Anniversary Trip

After celebrating our actual anniversary at home, we decided to continue the celebration in Charleston, SC.  We got up early on Saturday and drove to Folly Beach, which is about two and a half hours away.  The weather was so nice, and it felt great to relax on the beach for a while. :)

Then, we checked into the Francis-Marion hotel and got ready.  We met up with one of my best friends Elisabeth and her boyfriend Andrew at Belmont for drinks and had the best time.  Liz and I have been friends over fifteen years (since our awkward days of sixth grade!), and I just loved getting to catch up with her in person...and meeting her cute new bf. ;)

Gaines and I then went to Hall's Chophouse for dinner, which is hands-down our absolute favorite restaurant.  I went there on Steph's bachelorette party and my whole family went there for Annie's 80th birthday weekend, and it has been amazing all three times.  I mean, seriously amazing.  My sweet parents surprised us with champagne, and the service and food were just unbelievable.

On Sunday morning we got up and walked to Hominy Grill, where we had a great brunch.  I would definitely recommend it, too, if you're in the area!  We then walked back down King Street, through the Market, and then down the pier at East Bay Park (not sure if that's its real name or not).  The weather was so nice, and it was fun to window shop and people watch.

It was such a great little vacation and such a fun way to celebrate our anniversary!

Our Third Anniversary

For our anniversary on Wednesday, June 25th we decided to grill at home after Gaines got home from work.  I picked up food, dessert, and champagne (the most important part!) from Fresh Market, and Gaines did such a good job grilling steaks and asparagus.  We toasted to another great year, took some pictures, and read cards from each other before enjoying dinner and dessert. :)

It was such a fun night!  We went to Charleston the following weekend to continue the celebration.  I'll be back soon with more pictures, and in the meantime here's what we did for our First Anniversary and our Second Anniversary

Happy 30th Anniversary

Thirty years ago today this absolutely adorable couple started their life together and what an amazing life it's been.  They have taught me so much about unconditional love and support between a husband and wife and the importance of having fun and putting each other first. They have always made marriage look so easy, and they truly have a love worth celebrating. Happy 30th anniversary to my sweet mom and dad!!

Cheers to 30 years. :)  Can't wait to celebrate this weekend!!

Third Year Memories :)

I cannot believe it's been three years since we said "I do!!"  Time seriously flies when you're having fun. :)

The best part of my day is spending time with Gaines and every day is full of love and happiness because of him. He makes me laugh 1,000 times a day, he supports me no matter what, and he's always the best at bouncing ideas off of and answering my random questions.  He's the most loving, supportive, and thoughtful person, and I am so incredibly lucky I get experience life with him. Not to mention he's pretty smart and good looking, too. ;)  So, in honor of our third year of marriage, I picked out one of my favorite memories from each month.

Second Anniversary Trip

Last week we went to Hilton Head for our anniversary.  We rented a condo in Sea Pines right by the Salty Dog, which is where we stayed a few years ago when we went for a Labor Day trip.  We love the area and would definitely recommend it if you are planning to go any time soon!

On Monday we stopped at the outlets on the way into town before getting settled in to our condo and hitting up the pool for a little while.  We then grabbed drinks and pizza at Jake's Pizza, which is owned by Salty Dog, and sat on their huge patio for the rest of the night listening to live music.  And I have to brag on my sweet husband for a second.... he requested "Can't Help Falling in Love," which was the first song we danced to at our wedding, and we danced together on the patio.  That was by far my favorite memory of the trip!

[How cool are these tide pictures?!]

The next morning was our actual anniversary (June 25th), and we started the day with a bike ride to Harbor Town.  Hilton Head has amazing bike trails that are really shaded and well-labeled.  We walked around and grabbed lunch at The Harbor Down Grill before biking back.  We spent the rest of the day on the beach and had a fun dinner at Red Fish before ending the night with some champagne.  What a perfect anniversary!

[Alligator sighting #2...yikes!]

On Wednesday we went for another little bike ride and then drove to Coligny Square for lunch.  We spent some time at the pool, took a walk on the beach, and then had dinner and drinks at the Salty Dog Cafe.   Do you sense a pattern here? ;)

We started off our final day with brunch at Land's End Tavern and then took our bikes across the street to the beach, where we spent the rest of the day.  And can I just say, biking on the beach is harder than it looks! We ended the night with some drinks, Jake's Pizza, and ice cream.  Yum, yum, and yum.

[Gaines...the wild life whisperer]

It was such a fun trip!  Oh, and you can see our first anniversary post here. :)
