Family in the 'Boro

My whole family came to Waynesboro a few weekends ago and we had so much fun! I feel like I always say that, but it's so true. ;)  My parents drove down from Virginia and got in around 4pm, and shortly after Sam and Dales came in from Charlotte (Dales had flown there on Thursday night from NYC).  I hate that I didn't get any pictures, but we spent a few hours catching up on the back porch, because the weather was just gorgeous. Sam and Julie came over for dinner later that night, and I just loved having both of my families together again (but of course we missed Amy!!).

On Saturday, we got up early and the guys (plus Kristina's hubby Drew) headed to the golf course, while mom, Dales, and I walked around my neighborhood before heading to Augusta for some lunch and shopping.  We all got home around the same time and got ready for A Taste of Burke County, which is a charity event in Waynesboro I look forward to each year.  They have a silent auction, live auction, open bar, live band, and lots of great food from places around town.  We had friends over for a drink beforehand and just had the BEST time that night.

We slept in on Sunday and then headed to the farm to show Dales around.  Gaines took everyone on a short tractor ride and we snapped a few pictures before everyone headed home (boo!).

That picture above is by far one of my new favorite family photos. ;)  What a fun weekend it was!!

Five on Friday

I am not quite sure where my blogging motivation has gone, nor am I sure why I keep combining all my posts into five or ten points a time, but both of those things just keep to seem happening, so why stop now, right?

1. I finished my third Gifted Endorsement class!  Only four more long Tuesday night classes, a few class projects, and an observation until I'm finished. :)

2.  Last weekend we went to Taste of Burke County, which is a charity event that features food from local restaurants, a live auction, an open bar, and a fun band.  We have a great time every year, and this year was no exception.  I hate that I didn't get a group picture, but we ended up going with a big group of our friends this year.

3.  A few nights later we headed over to Kim and Justin's house to surprise the birthday girl Kristina on her 27th birthday.  The look on her face below pretty much says it all.  She was surprised, and we had a lot of fun celebrating over a delicious dinner and yummy cake.

4.  And we finally found out what breed our Mollygirl is...

sort of!  She sure is a whole lot of mixes according to the doggie DNA kit.  We were so surprised that some type of shepard never showed up and even more surprised that chihuahua did (??!!??).

 5.  We randomly made plans to fly to D.C. at the end of March at the future Fleming's persuasion.  Nonstop flights, weekend away, and best friends.  Done and done!

buuut I'm most excited to see baby Charlie.... let's be honest. ;)

 Happy Friday!

Weekend in Waynesboro

This past weekend we went to "A Taste of Burke County," which is a charity event that features food from our local favorites.  The food is great, the live auction is fun to watch, the drinks are endless, and the dance floor is out of control. I look forward to it every year and loved getting to hang out with these girls (and our husbands!) all night.

Me and Caroline

Okay, and get this.  In the past seven days, we have found out that THREE (three!) of our couple friends are having babies and they're all due in October.

Congratulations to Amanda and Robert, Courtney and Bobby, and Kristen and Tanner!

We're not sure what's in the water down here in Burke County, so the six of us have made a pact not drink the water.

From now on, it's beer and wine only. ;)
