Labor Day Weekend at the Rivah

Labor Day has become one of my new favorite holidays-- not only is it a three-day weekend, but last year my family started the tradition of going to the rivah over the long weekend, which I look forward to all summer.

This year Gaines, Molly, and I left on Friday afternoon and got in a little before midnight. The long drive was all worth it once we hopped out and see everyone.  Saturday morning we all woke up really early and hung out while drinking coffee in the kitchen.  Then "the men" (minus my poor Dad, who had gout in his toe) headed off to play golf, while mom, Dales, and I drove over to The Tide's Inn for lunch.  We sipped on fun lemonade drinks and ate a great meal as we talked and talked and talked by the water.  How perfect!

When we got back we all headed to the pool for a little while, but later came back up to the house to enjoy the view, play some golf, shoot some crows, and drink some beers. Sounds a little redneck if you ask me. ;)

After a fun homemade dinner the Quinns came over, and we all watched the Georgia/Clemson game.  Even though we didn't win, it was still fun to watch the game with some of my favorite people!

The next morning we hung out by the pool and went swimming in the bay (which Molly just LOVES).  Anna Hensley even found a sea horse!

Then we took the jet skis and boat over the sand bar, which was the epitome of a Redneck Yacht Club if you ask me.  It was so much fun, and we even ended up jumping off the top of Rowe's boat.  Talk about Sunday Funday.

We ended the night with another great meal, some more picture taking, and of course a beer pong tournament in the basement.

There just nothing like a weekend of Turner Family Fun at the rivah. ;)
