Gaines' Birthday Weekend

Gaines turned the big 2-6 yesterday, and we had fun celebrating with friends at our house on Saturday night.  I have no idea why I didn't get pictures of our friends, but I managed to snap plenty of pictures of the food....

We woke up and had a birthday brunch on Sunday....

and a yummy steak-and-baked-potato dinner last night. 

And then I realized how big of a role food played in this weekend and figured that apparently not much has changed in the past 26 years...

I am so thankful you were born 26 years ago...

and grew up smart so you could get into UGA.

  

And I'm so thankful we met at a pledge social...

and then dated for six wonderful years.

And I'm so thankful you became my fiance...

and are now my husband. :)

Our Story

For my birthday Gaines' mom got me the "Our Story" magnetic sign that sits under our TV in the den.  If you can't tell from previous posts, I just love it.  It helps that my new last name was convientenly made into a huge magnet, and I've had fun shopping at  Tree House Gift and Home for seasonal magnets to attach to it.

Superhero Storys

This past weekend we got to celebrate two of Gaines' second cousin's birthdays! The party was "superhero" themed, which was perfect for a newly 7 and 2 year old.  What little boys don't love dressing up like Batman and Spiderman?

 They are the funniest and cutest group of cousins I've ever seen, and I love seeing them when they come into town from South Carolina. 

Yet another reason I love being a part of this family. :)

The Best Part of the Superbowl

I hope you had a great weekend!  Ours was so much fun (pictures to come soon!) and included watching the Super Bowl, like the 113 million other people in the world (crazy, right!?).  Anyways, like most girls, I don't really care about the game, but do love the commericals.  This one took the cake in my book this year, and I just had to share in case you missed it:

The Future Mr. and Mrs. Smith

I knew Lauren, or "Flanz" as a lot of people call her, from high school and was so excited when she called to tell me she was coming down to Gerogia to be a Bulldog.  I was even more excited when she became an AXO and then my "little sister."  She is honestly the sweetest person I know, and she's just got engaged to her college sweetheart Shepard!!!!

I am so happy for them. And I mean, seriously, how cute are they!? :)
