Willie

I am so sad to say that Willie has gone to Heaven. :(

We feel so lucky that he lived a happy, full life for thirteen years...

and so thankful for all of the love and joy he brought to our family...

but we still just miss him so much.

We are going to bury him at the river, which was his favorite place, and I have comfort knowing that he's in Heaven having the time of his life with our other family pets, Chesie (our dog), Henry (my guinea pig), Mac (Dales' bunny), and Nibbles (Sammy's gerbil).

I love you Wills.

The Future Mr. and Mrs. Brown: Part 2

I just got back from Atlanta and had the best time celebrating Steph and Danny's engagement.  Her parents hosted a great party at their house complete with Mexican food and margaritas, and I enjoyed every second catching up and laughing with my best friends from college. :)

I am so thankful for these girls and am so happy for you, Tuerky!

The Future Mr. and Mrs. Brown

I am so excited to head to Atlanta in a couple of hours for Steph and Danny's engagement party! Gaines is staying in Waynesboro for a friend's wedding...during wedding season, we have to "divide and conquer" like he says. But not only do I get to spend time celebrating the wonderful couple tonight...

but I get to spend time with my college best friends, too.

See you soon siiiiiisters!

The Grace Project

Laura Rowe is one of my friends from college and is such an amazing person with such a huge heart.  In her blog post from yesterday, she talked about the time she spent in Africa and the special friendship she formed with a woman named Grace.  You can read more about her story here, and if you are feeling generous, Laura explains how you can help Grace and her family.

"In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive."

Curb Appeal

Our railing and mailbox were in need of some serious TLC...
so Gaines started by sanding each spindle (which took a total of 4 hours!):

Once he was finished, we covered  the porch and surrounding brick...

and spray painted it black for a fresher look:

The mailbox was much easier and with a little primer, spray paint, and new numbers, it looks brand new:

It was a simple, cheap project...

that hopefully adds some curb appeal to our place.

Happy Wednesday!

How 'Bout Them Dawgs!?

We would have loved to have been in Jacksonville for the Dawgs big win on Saturday, but had fun going to Burke Perk to watch the game with some friends.

Tanner, Jason, Bo, and Gaines

Me and Gaines

Me and Amy

Caroline, Kristen, me, Amy, Christey, and baby Dailey

It wasn't the prettiest game I've ever seen, but we were so proud of our Dawgs 24-20 victory over the Gators...and of our #18 ranking on the AP polls! How 'bout them dawgs!?
