Ten on Tuesday

1. I am loving summer!  I pretty much spend my weekdays sleeping in, working out, laying out, reading, having lunch with Gaines, and playing with Molly, and I am enjoying every second.

2. Speaking of Molly, look at my sweet baby.  We've had her seven weeks now, which is over half of her thirteen week life.  When I took her to the vet last week to get her last round of shots, she weighed 20 pounds, and the vet thought she'd end up being about 35 pounds when she's full grown.  Sounds like a perfect size to us!

3.  On Saturday night we had dinner at the Cherof's super-cute new house in Augusta.  Nate cooked an amazing paella dish on the grill, and we had the best time catching up and hearing about their honeymoon. They, too, just got a puppy, so we took Molly to meet her.  Molly's a little bigger and older, so Sadie wasn't sure about her, but Amy and I are positive that once they're closer to the same size they'll be bff's.

4.  Since the weather's been so nice lately, we  Gaines has been doing a lot of grilling, and we tried a new Blue Cheese Chicken Burger recipe last week.  We didn't read the directions carefully enough, so ours turned out a little different than the picture, but they still tasted great. We combined 1/4 cup of spicy barbecue sauce, 1 and 1/2 tsp. of hot pepper sauce, 1 lb. of lean ground chicken breast, 1/4 cup of bread crumbs, 2 tsp. of minced garlic and a little salt and pepper.  Gaines added some blue cheese to the top while the burgers were still on the grill, and they were delicious!

We liked the flavor so much that last night we marinated chicken breasts in a mixture of barbeque sauce, hot sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper and then grilled them and added the blue cheese to the top.  Yum!

5. Next Monday is our one year anniversary!!  I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone and how much fun our first year of marriage has been.

6. Speaking of weddings, Lindsay and Travis' is this weekend in Athens.  It's a day I know they've both looked forward to for a long time, and it will be so much fun to celebrate them with all of our college friends.

7. We get to celebrate Windsor and Chris at their wedding in North Carolina next weekend with all of my best friends from high school.  I. love. wedding. season. :)

8.  And switching gears to house stuff, we were lucky enough to get our coach from Gaines' uncle, but our lack of seating for guests isn't ideal.  We've been couch shopping lately and are leaning toward this one from Haverty's along with it's matching love seat.  Any thoughts on Haverty's furniture and/or ideas on other places to shop?

9.  My current principal at BCMS just became our county's superintendent, so I went up to meet our new principal this morning.  She seems great, and I'm excited to see what changes she will make to our school.  I'm actually teaching a week of summer school next week, and I can't wait to meet some of the rising sixth graders, too.

10. I just found this picture from a year ago, and it makes me miss my crazy awesome family so much!!

Happy Tuesday!
