Whenever Gaines would mention how lucky I was to not work all summer, I'd just point my finger at him and say...
Kidding. :) But I was admittingly on Pinterest a lot this summer getting ideas for my classroom. After being in a room that looked identical for the last three years, I figured it was time to switch it up a little. And thankfully, Pinterest was always at my fingertips to help me do so.
If you follow me on Pinterest, you've probably seen a lot of these pictures before, but here are all of the new ideas that have showed up in my classroom.
A Crayon Wreath -- to add color to the door
A Blue Bookshelf -- to display my teaching books
A "Data Board" -- to set goals and show growth over the year
An "Absent Folders" Board -- a spot to put the handouts for those students who are absent
A "Shoot for the Stars" Bulletin Board -- to relate to our astronomy unit
An "Bravo" Bulletin Board -- the clips provide an easy way to display student work
A "Word Wall Garden" -- to show students key vocabulary from each unit in a fun way
A Classroom Library -- where books are organized by topic
Labeled School Supplies -- for easy use and easy storing
Line Tape -- so my kids never have an excuse for an ugly line again ;)
A "Pick Me" Jar -- to randomly call on students, praise them for good behavior, etc.
Science Journals -- for students to record the important information they are learning
Crates -- to hold the science journals and different colored crates will be for different classes
A "Teacher Binder" -- with dividers for everything I need
Motivational Posters -- to hopefully encourage my students
A "Standards and Agenda" Board -- so students know exactly what is being taught
Classroom Curtains -- to add a little character to the room
I'll post pictures of my classroom soon, but in the meantime I'll leave you with my other favorite teacher-related SomeEcard:
Happy pinning. :)

Cute ideas! I'm so sad I joined pinterest after I stopped teaching, there are so many great things on there!
