Charleston: Saturday

A huge thunderstorm had come through Charleston while we were at dinner on Friday night and thankfully it started and ended while we were eating at Halls.  It left chillier, cloudier weather on Saturday, but that didn't stop us from exploring the city.  We walked down to Battery Park and then walked back along East Bay Street (stopping of course to take pictures!) and ended up eating at the Noisy Oyster for lunch.  They have the best white sangria and chilled shrimp, if you are wondering. :)

We continued our walk by heading up and down King Street, before walking back to the hotel to get ready for dinner.  We ate and drank a lot this trip if you can't tell!  We ate at 39 Rue de Jean, which had good "light" food, like sushi, mussels, and burgers, and then "the kids" ended the night by going out with one of Sammy's best friends from high school and his sister.

I hate that I didn't get one more group shot, but hopefully it won't be long until we are all back together again. :)

To my amazing family, I love you so much!!!!

Charleston: Friday Night

I mentioned in the last post that we had a photographer come and take our pictures.  We really haven't had Dailey family pictures taken since we were this age...

so we used the picture above as our inspiration and look some low-key, casual pictures at the hotel.  We don't have them back yet, but as soon as we do, I'll try to post some.  In the mean time, here are the informal ones we took beforehand.

We ate dinner that night at Halls Chophouse and I promise I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the BEST MEAL EVER.  The atmosphere is unbelievable, the service is fantastic, and the food is to die for.  I highly, highly recommend it if you happen to be in Charleston any time soon. :)

That's the owner Mr. Hall at the head of the table with us. :)

Annnnd one more of my favorite candid shots to end the night with....

Saturday pictures are up next!

Charleston: Friday

On Friday morning we woke up relatively early and headed upstairs for breakfast and coffee.  My super-fabulous-planner-of-a-mother had arranged for a horse carriage to pick us up at the hotel and give us a tour of historic Charleston.  It was a great chance to learn a lot, enjoy the weather, and hang out together.

As soon as we were dropped off back at the hotel, we all walked across the street and perused through the market.  We didn't end up finding much, but it's just a neat place to walk through.  In celebration of my dad's birthday, we walked over to A.W.Shuck's for the most amazing oysters, mussels, and jambalaya.  We ended up being "those people" and bought souvenir shirts, but I know every time I wear it I'll think of my dad's birthday and the fun lunch we had. :)

Later in the afternoon as the women shopped (which I didn't get any pictures of), the men slipped off to the Irish bar down the street and ended up back at the hotel in the Jacuzzi.  :)

We all got ready and then it was time for professional family photos (I told you my mom was a great planner!) and dinner at the most amazing restaurant I've ever been to.  No lie.

I'll be back soon with more pictures from Friday night!
