On Friday morning we woke up relatively early and headed upstairs for breakfast and coffee. My super-fabulous-planner-of-a-mother had arranged for a horse carriage to pick us up at the hotel and give us a tour of historic Charleston. It was a great chance to learn a lot, enjoy the weather, and hang out together.
As soon as we were dropped off back at the hotel, we all walked across the street and perused through the market. We didn't end up finding much, but it's just a neat place to walk through. In celebration of my dad's birthday, we walked over to A.W.Shuck's for the most amazing oysters, mussels, and jambalaya. We ended up being "those people" and bought souvenir shirts, but I know every time I wear it I'll think of my dad's birthday and the fun lunch we had. :)
Later in the afternoon as the women shopped (which I didn't get any pictures of), the men slipped off to the Irish bar down the street and ended up back at the hotel in the Jacuzzi. :)
We all got ready and then it was time for professional family photos (I told you my mom was a great planner!) and dinner at the most amazing restaurant I've ever been to. No lie.
I'll be back soon with more pictures from Friday night!
