Charleston:Thursday

This past weekend was one I had been looking forward to a very long time.  My mom's side of the family includes the six of us, plus my grandma Annie, Uncle Mike, Aunt Shannon, and cousin Elle, and we haven't been together on a vacation to the Gaspirilla Inn in Florida since 2004!  We had several birthdays to celebrate, including my Annie's 80th and my dad's 55th, so my mom figured "What better reason to celebrate?!" and planned an amazing trip.  We were missing a very, very important person all weekend, but I know my Grampy was still with us, enjoying every minute we were together.

On Friday my sister and parents walked around Charleston, anxiously awaiting everyone's arrival.  Gaines and I were the last to arrive around 7pm, where we were greeted with lots of squeals and hugs.  We stayed right by the market at the Charleston Place, where my mom had booked a suite (plus two extra rooms) on the Club Level.   We were able to just walk upstairs and grab food or drinks at pretty much any time during the day, which was really nice.

Around eight we headed over to Hank's for dinner and had such a great time catching up over delicious seafood.

It was Annie's actual birthday that day, so we walked back to our hotel to celebrate with champagne and cake.  The five "kids" ended up hitting the town for a little while after the celebration, and I'm pretty sure I didn't wipe the smile off my face the entire night.

There's just nothing like family, ya know?

Pictures from Friday coming soon!
